About The Author

Sarah Garner is a board-certified Pathologists’ Assistant (PA) and is the founder and director of the Pathologists’ Assistant program at Tulane University School of Medicine. Sarah is also an Assistant Professor at Tulane University School of Science and Engineering.

Sarah is consistently ranked by students at Tulane University and Tulane University School of Medicine as an outstanding professor and has received multiple teaching awards and grants. Most recently, Sarah was named “Professor of the Year” by medical students at Tulane University and was chosen as a “2019 40 Under Forty” by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She teaches a wide range of students including pathology residents and fellows, medical students, graduate students, pathologists’ assistant students, and undergraduate students. Sarah has been teaching gross anatomy for seven years and is passionate about anatomy, pathology, and medical education. She is currently working on her PhD in medical and health professions education with a concentration in contemporary human anatomy education and is always trying to find ways to improve her teaching techniques to fit her students’ needs.
